"I have long believed that good food, good eating is all about risk. Whether we're talking about unpasteurized Stilton, raw oysters or working for organized crime 'associates,' food, for me, has always been an adventure."--Anthony Bourdain
This recipe for Garlic Cheese Bread Bowl Dip, by Betty Short, is from NOW WE'RE COOKING,
one of the cookbooks created at FamilyCookbookProject.com. We help
families or individuals create heirloom cookbook treasures.
1 - 8 oz. block cream cheese, softened, 1/8 C minced garlic (pre-minced in a jar), 1 C mayonnaise, 2 C 6-blend Italian cheeses (pre-shredded pkg.) 2 White Mountain bread rounds (Publix)
Mix first 4 ingredients together. Cut center out of one loaf of bread to make a bread bowl. Pour cheese mixture into bread bowl and bake on cookie sheet at 400 degrees for about 30-40 min. Add a little extra cheese on top at the end of baking time. Serve with torn up pieces of bread cut out of bowl, and second bread round cut up in pieces.
