2 1/2 C flour
1 tsp salt
1 C shortening
1 egg, separated
scant 1/2 C milk
1 C corn flakes
8 to 10 apples
1 tsp cinnamon
1 C sugar
1 tsp vanilla
1 T water
1 C powdered sugar

Mix the flour, salt, shortening, egg yolk, and milk as for a pie crust. Roll half of the dough out to fit a 10x15 inch pan. Sprinkle with corn flakes. Peel and slice apples and place over corn flakes. Sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar. Roll the other half of the dough to cover the apples, sealing the edges. Beat egg white until stiff and brush over dough. Bake at 400 for 1 hour. Combine vanilla, water, and powdered sugar, using more water if needed. Drizzle over warm crust.
