3 ripe, large bananas
9 wooden ice cream sticks or skewers

2 c. (12 oz.) semi-sweet chocolate chips
2 Tbsp. shortening

1 1/2 c. chopped, unsalted, roasted peanuts

Directions:
Directions:

Peel bananas; cut each into thirds and insert wooden stick into each piece. Place on wax paper lined tray, cover and freeze until firm.

In top of double boiler over hot, not boiling, water melt chocolate chips and shortening.

Remove bananas from freezer just before dipping. Dip each piece into warm chocolate, covering completely; allow excess to drip off and immediately roll in peanuts. Cover and return to freezer until ready to serve.
