3 large egg whites
1/4 tsp cream of tartar
3/4 c sugar

Directions:
1. Heat oven to 275 F
2. Line cookie sheet with parchment paper or heavy brown paper
3. Beat egg whites and cream of tartar in medium bowl with mixer on high, until foamy.
4. Beat in sugar, 1 T at a time, until stiff and glossy. Do not underbeat.
5. Shape meringue on cookie sheet into a 9" circle with back of spoon building sides up.
6. Bake 1 1/2 hours. Turn off oven and leave meringue in oven with door closed 1 hour. Finish cooling at room temperature.
Fill with fresh fruit or berries dusted with powdered sugar or fruit sorbet or even ice cream.

This is a easy dessert to make a bit messy to serve as the meringue breaks up rather then cuts, but it is yummy and fun!
