2 cups whole wheat flour
1 cup white flour
cup grains including: bran, wheat germ, oatmeal, or other
1 tsp baking soda
tsp baking powder
to 1 tsp salt


1 cup buttermilk (reserving cup)

Directions:
Directions:
Combine 4 cups total of dry ingredients. Adjust amounts to taste.

Stir in 1 cup buttermilk, reserving cup to use if needed to make the dough wetter. Gather into a large ball and knead on floured surface 10-15 times, turning dough as you go. Mold dough into round loaf and put on greased cookie sheet. Make a large cross across top of loaf, cutting about way through dough. Bake in 375 oven for 40-50 min. Knock on the bread. If it sounds hollow, its done.
