2 one ounce unsweetened chocolate squares
2/3 c milk, scalded
2 c sugar
1 T light corn syrup
2 t butter
1 t vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Chop the chocolate. Melt chocolate in scalded milk. Stir until blended. Add sugar and corn syrup, cook slowly stirring until sugar dissolves. Bring to boiling, cover and cook 3 minutes. Uncover and continue cooking to soft ball stage (236-238 degrees) stirring frequently. Remove from heat. Add butter and cool to lukewarm (110 degrees) without stirring. Add vanilla and beat vigorously until candy is thick and loses its gloss. Quickly pour into greased pan.
