2 c. flour 2 tsp. baking powder 1/2 tsp. salt 2 Tbsp. sugar 1/3 c. shortening 1/2 c. milk 4 or 5 apples
SYRUP: 1 c. sugar 1/2 c. butter 2 c. water
Sift dry ingredients. Mix in shortening, then add milk. Divide into four parts. Roll out into four squares, and place sliced apples on each. Fold corners and pinch together. Place in pan and pour syrup over dumplings. Bake at 350º for 36 minutes.
