1 Large Onion (chopped)
2 Stocks of Celery (chopped with leaves)
2 cloves of garlic (minced)
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup uncooked lentils
1 teaspoon curry powder (to taste)
1 carrot (chopped)
1 apple (chopped)
Dash of anise seeds
3 cups water
4 cups cooked rice (white or brown)

Directions:
Directions:
Combine first 10 ingredients & bring to a boil. Reduce to simmer & cook until done - generally 1 hour but varies. Serve over steamed rice.

This is the only way I have ever had lentils that I loved! You can throw everything in the crock pot in the morning & it is done when you get off work. Very health - less than 1 gram fat & lots of protein.
