"I have long believed that good food, good eating is all about risk. Whether we're talking about unpasteurized Stilton, raw oysters or working for organized crime 'associates,' food, for me, has always been an adventure."--Anthony Bourdain
This recipe for Mom's Carmel popcorn balls, by Lynn Roth, is from The Kadavy Family Cookbook ,
one of the cookbooks created at FamilyCookbookProject.com. We help
families or individuals create heirloom cookbook treasures.
Popcorn with all old maids removed 1 stick margarine 1 bag miniature marshmallows Approximately. 20-25 carmels
Pop white popcorn to fill a large roaster pan. Remove all old maids. In the microwave place margarine and carmels and cook to melt. Stir often as you melt. Add bag of marshmallows and continue to melt them down, stirring often. Pour into popcorn and stir immediately to cover all popcorn. Butter hands well and make balls into baseball size. Be sure to butter your hands well, as the carmel will burn you if they are not protected.
These are very good gooey popcorn balls. Wrap in saran wrap any balls that will not be eaten within a few hours. I love these so much I can only make them once a year as I will eat them all in one day if I can get away with it!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Only bad part is cleanup but soooooo worth it.
