1 1/2 C sugar
1 1/2 C molasses
1 1/2 C shortening
1 tsp ginger
1 tsp vanilla
1 tsp salt
2 eggs
3 tsp baking soda
1/2 C water
5-7 C of flour
sugar for sprinkling

Directions:
Directions:
First, dissolve the soda in the water. Mix all ingredients and add four until you can handle the dough enough to roll. Divide dough into quarters and start with 1/4. Refrigerate the rest until you are ready to use. Roll out dough and sprinkle with sugar. Use cutters to cut out shapes. Bake at 350 for 10 min.
