"I have long believed that good food, good eating is all about risk. Whether we're talking about unpasteurized Stilton, raw oysters or working for organized crime 'associates,' food, for me, has always been an adventure."--Anthony Bourdain
This recipe for Aunt Merril’s Banana Bread, by The Cord Family, is from The Beach Club Family Cookbook,
one of the cookbooks created at FamilyCookbookProject.com. We help
families or individuals create heirloom cookbook treasures.
3-4 bananas 1 stick of butter 1 egg 1 tsp. salt 1 tsp. baking soda 1 cup sugar 1½ cup flour
Preheat oven to 350°. Mash all ingredients together. Put into a buttered and floured loaf pan. If you have a nonstick pan, you don’t need this step. Bake for 1 hour at sea level or one hour and 15 min. in the altitude. Test with a tooth pick to judge if loaf is cooked. This recipe is good if cinnamon-sugar is sprinkled on the top when it’s still warm. Blueberries are tasty in this recipe too.
