1 c. butter
2 c. sugar
6 whole eggs
4 c. flour
2 t. baking powder
1/2 lb. red candy cherries
1/2 lb. citron
1/2 lb. red and green candy pineapple
1 lb. white raisins
4 c. pecans
1 fresh coconut, grated
2 - 1oz bottles of orange extract, pour in cup and fill with warm water to make 3/4 cup. liquid.
1 c. orange, lemon and lime gumdrops, mixed together. (Flour these with some of the 4 cups. of flour.)

Cream shortening, add sugar, eggs, then flour and orange extract. Alternately add 2 t. baking powder to last cup of flour, add coconut, then fruits and nuts. Bake 2 hours at 275 degrees. if coconut is not used, use 1 lb. cherry or candy pineapple. always use fresh coconut and butter.

It takes a full day to cup u[p and bake this cake but it's worth it.!
