French Toast Casserole Recipe

12 slices day-old bread (no crust)
2 (8oz) pkg. cream cheese
1 c. blueberries (fresh or frozen)
12 eggs
2 c. milk
1/3 c. maple syrup or honey

optional sauce:
1 c. sugar
2 T. cornstarch
1 c. water
1 c. blueberries (fresh or frozen)
1 T. butter

Cut bread into 1" cubes. Put half in a greased 9x13 pan.
Cut cream cheese into 1" cubes. Layer over bread.
Top with blueberries and remaining bread.
Beat eggs, add milk and syrup. Mix well. Pour over bread. Cover and chill 8 hours.
Take out 30 minutes before baking
Cover and bake 30 minutes at 350
Uncover and bake 25-30 more minutes.

Combine sugar and cornstarch. Add water.
Boil 3 minutes, stirring.
Stir in berries. Simmer 8-10 minutes.
Stir in butter.
