1 cube butter
1 cup sugar

Directions:
Directions:
Beat until fluffy. Add 2 eggs, one at a time and beat. Make a paste of 2 T. cocoa and 2 one oz. bottles of red cake coloring and add to egg mixture. Then add 1 tsp. vanilla, 1 cup buttermilk and 2 3/4 cups sifted cake flour alternately. Last add 1 T. vinegar and 1 1/2 tsp. soda which have been mixed together. Put in 2 layer pans and bake 25 to 30 minutes at 375 or 350 in glass pans.

Frosting:
1 cup milk
5 Tbls. flour
1 cup butter
1 cup sifted powdered sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
Cook the milk and flour until thick, then cool in refrigerator. Beat the butter, powdered sugar and vanilla and add to milk and flour mixture a little at a time. Frost cake.
