1 piece boiling meat or fat bacon
1 1/2 t. salt
2 T bacon drippings
1 3/4 c. cold water
2 c. shelled peas or snapped green beans
1 t. sugar

Directions:
Directions:
Place meat in 1 1/2 qt. boiler. Cover with 1 3/4 c. cold water. Cover boiler and boil for 10 to 15 minutes. Wash an pick over peas or beans throughly. Add peas to boiling meat. Add salt, sugar and black pepper to taste. Boil peas over low heat for 1 hour and .30 minutes. Let sit covered for 30 minutes after removing from heat before serving. This improves the flavor
