1 c. Shortening (melted)
1 1/2 c. Light Molasses
1/4 c. sugar
4 c. flour
1 1/2 t. salt
2 t. soda
2 t. cinnamon
1 1/2 t. ginger
1/2 t. cloves
1 egg
1 c raisins,
and If desired, 1 c. nuts

Directions:
Directions:
Mix melted shortening, molasses and sugar together. Mix rest of dry ingredients together. Add 1 cup of dry ingredients to shortening mixture, then add the egg. Add rest of dry ingredients. and mix well. Add raisers and nuts if desired.

Roll in small balls and flatten slightly.
Bake 350 10-15 min.
