4 Granny Smith apples, peeled, cored and cut into 1/2 inch chunks
1/4 c sugar
1 tbsp fresh lemon juice
1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
coarse salt

Directions:
Directions:
In a 2 qt microwave-safe dish with a lid, combine apples, sugar, lemon juice, cinnamon, and a pinch of a salt.
Cover, and microwave on high until very tender, 10 to 15 mins, stirring halfway through.
Mash apples with the back of a spoon.
Serve warm; or cover, refigerate at least 1 hr, and serve chilled.
Store, covered, in the refrigerator for up to 1 week.
