4 c flour
1 tsp baking soda
2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
1/4 to 1/2 c sugar
1/4 c shortening
1/2 to 1 c raisins
2 to 4 tbsp caraway seeds
2 c buttermilk

Directions:

Heat oven to 350
Grease and flour pan
Sift first 5 ingredients
Add shortening by breaking with a fork
Add remaining 3 ingredients
Shape with spoon
Sprinkle with flour
Bake for 1 hour
