BOTTOM LAYER
Mix 1/2 c. shortening
1/2 c. brown sugar
Stir in 1 c. flour
Press and flatten with hand to cover bottom of pan.
Bake for 5 minutes at 350

TOPPING
Beat 2 eggs well. Stir in 1 c. brown sugar, 1 t. vanilla, 2 T. flour, 1/2 t. salt, 1 t. baking powder 1 c. moist shredded coconut, 1 c. chopped nuts

Return to oven and bake for 25 minutes at 350 until topping is golden brown. Cool slightly and cut into bars
