Mix thoroughly in sauce pan:
1 1/2 cups sugar
1/2 cup water
1/2 teas. cream of tartar

Directions:
Directions:
Boil slowly without stirring until syrup spins 6 8 inch thread
keep pan covered 3 min. to prevent crystals. While syrup is
cooling, beat 2 egg whites or 1/2 c. until stiff peaks. Pour
hot syrup slowly into egg whites, beating constantly. Add
1 teas. vanilla. Beat until thick enough to spread.
