1/2 c. (1 cube) margarine
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. light brown sugar
1/4 c. light corn syrup
1/8 tsp. baking soda
1/8 tsp. cream of tarter
3 quarts popcorn (12 c. popped kernals)

Directions:
Directions:
Melt margarine in a medium saucepan. Add salt, sugar, and corn syrup. Bring to a boil. Remove from heat and add baking soda and cream of tarter. Stir well, mixture should poof up. Pour over popcorn in a large bowl. Use a wooden spoon to stir to coat.

Variation: Omit cream of tarter and increase baking soda to 1/2 tsp. After adding baking soda, also add 1/2 tsp. vanilla to caramel mixture.
