4 c. sugar
1 c. light corn syrup
3/4 c. cold water
1/4 tsp. salt
3 egg whites
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. chopped nuts

Directions:
Directions:
Mix together sugar, corn syrup, water and salt in a large glass bowl. Cook in microwave for 22 min. or until hard ball stage 254F. Stir once or twice while cooking. Beat egg whites until stiff in very large glass mixing bowl.
Pour hot mixture into beaten whites and beat about 12 min. Fold in nuts and vanilla. (You may divide into separate bowls and tint for variations.) If you do happen to get the candy too hard, you can return it to the microwave for a few seconds to soften.
Spoon on to waxed paper to set.
