4 medium white potatoes, thinly sliced
1 bay leaf
1 T. butter
3 cloves garlic, crushed
1/2 c. buttermilk
3 T. plain yogurt
1 t. black pepper

Directions:
Directions:
Bring 3c. water to a boil and add potatoes and bay leaf. Cook, partially covered, over medium heat for about 12 minutes until potatoes are fork tender. Drain, reserving 3 T. of the water, discard bay leaf. Transfer potatoes to a large bowl, add remaining ingredients and beat, adding reserved liquid to a breamy consistency.
