Raw Apple Cake Recipe

1/2 cup butter or shortening
1 cup sugar
1 1/2 cups flour
1 tsp soda
1/4 tsp cloves
1/4 tsp salt
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp vanilla
2 tbsp cocoa
1/2 cup water
2 eggs, well beaten
2 raw apples, diced
1 cup raisins.

Cream butter or shortening and sugar. Add flour, soda, cloves, salt, cinnamon, vanilla, cocoa and water. Beat hard. Then add eggs, apples and raisins. Bake in moderate oven for 45 minutes.
