1 1/2 cups sifted flour
1/2 tsp soda
1/4 tsp nutmeg
3/4 cup shortening
1/2 cup chopped nuts
1 cup sugar
1 egg
1 cup mashed bananas
1 1/2 cups rolled oats

Directions:
Directions:
Sift dry ingredients. Cream shortening, add sugar gradually, beating until light and fluffy. Add egg and beat well. Add bananas, rolled oats and nuts. Mix thoroughly. Add flour mixture and blend. Drop from teaspoon on ungreased cookie sheet, spacing about 1 1/2" apart. Bake 15 minutes in hot oven. Makes about 4 dozen.
