1 egg
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 tsp vanilla
1/2 cup sifted flour
1/2 tsp salt
1/8 tsp soda
1 cup walnuts, cut-up

Directions:
Directions:
Beat egg until foamy. Beat in sugar and vanilla. Sift flour, salt and soda together and stir in. Mix in walnuts. Spread in well greased 8" square pan. Bake until top has a dull crust. Bake at 325 for 25 - 30 minutes. Cut into squares while warm, cool, then remove from pan. Makes 16 2" squares.
