1/2 c shortening
1 c sugar
2 eggs, well beaten
1 T milk
2 1/2 c flour
1/2 t baking powder
1/4 t salt
3/4 t nutmeg

Directions:
Directions:
Cream together shortening and sugar until light and fluffy. Add beaten eggs and milk and beat well. Sift together dry ingredients and add to creamed mixture. Shape dough into mound, wrap in waxed paper and chill thoroughly.

Roll dough in batches onto work surface that has been lightly "floured" with confectioners sugar. Roll until dough is about 1/4" thick. Dip cutter in confectioners sugar each time before cutting cookie - then place cookie on lightly greased baking sheet. Bake at 375 for about 8 minutes, or until delicately browned.
