Cake:
1/2 C butter
1 C sugar
1 C canned unsweetened applesauce
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp nutmeg
1/2 tsp cloves
1 tsp soda dissolved in applesauce
2 C flour
1 small pkg raisins, soaked in water until soft

Butter Sauce:
1 1/2 C sugar
1 cube butter
2 T flour
1 C water
1/2 tsp vanilla or 1 T rum

Directions:

Cake:
Mix cake ingredients and pour into prepared pan.
Bake @ 300 for approximately 1 hour (may take a little longer).

Butter Sauce:
Cream together sugar and butter. In a saucepan, make a thickening with flour and water. Mix and cook until thickened. Add flavoring and creamed mixture. Cook until butter is melted and sugar is dissolved.

Serve cake with butter sauce on top.
