2 cups packed brown sugar
1 cup butter, softened
1 tsp vanilla
2 eggs
2 1/2 cups whole wheat pastry flour
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
3 cups quick-cooking oats
2 Tbl butter
1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
1 package (12 oz) chocolate chips
1 cup chopped nuts
1 tsp vanilla
1/2 tsp salt

Directions:
Directions:
Heat oven to 350. Mix brown sugar, 1 cup butter, 1 tsp vanilla and the eggs. Stir in flour, baking soda and 1/2 tsp salt; stir in oats. Reserve 1/3 of the oat mixture. Press remaining oat mixture in greased cake pan. Heat 2 TBL butter, the milk and chocolate chips over low heat, stirring constantly, until chocolate is melted; remove from heat. Stir in nuts, 1 tsp vanilla and 1/2 tsp salt. Spread over oat mixture in pan. Drop reserved oat mixture by rounded teaspoonfuls onto chocolate mixture. Bake until golden brown, 25 to 30 minutes. Cut into bars while warm.
