12 lemons, peel only, no pith or white membranes
2 liters vodka or light rum
6 c. sugar
3 c. water

Directions:
Directions:
1. Put lemon peels and vodka or rum in a container and let stand for 4 weeks
2. strain the mixture into a decanter
3. Mix the sugar and water in a medium saucepan and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer until the sugar has dissolved. let cool before adding to the vodka mixture.
4. Serve very cold in small aperitif glasses
5. Store in freezer for up to 1 year.
