1 large loaf French bread, cut into 1 1/2 in. slices
3 1/2 cups milk
9 eggs
1 1/2 cups sugar, divided
1 tbsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. salt
6-8 med. apples, McIntosh or Cortland peeled and sliced
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. nutmeg

Directions:
Directions:
Squeeze bread slices into greased 13x9 glass casserole. Beat eggs, milk, 1 cup sugar, vanilla and salt in large bowl until well combined. Pour 1/2 mixture over bread.
Layer apples slices over top and pour remaining mixture over top of apples.
Mix remaining sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg in a small bowl and sprinkle over casserole. Cover and refrigerate overnight.
Bake, uncovered at 350 for 1 hour until heated through and eggs are set.
