3 C sugar
3/4 C white karo syrup
3/4 C water

3 egg whites

nuts and vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Cook sugar water and syrup to the thread stage, remove from heat and let the bubbles settle.

While the sugar mixture is cooking beat egg whites till stiff and dry.

Pour half of the sugar mixture into the eggs whites beating as you are pouring.

Return the sugar mixture to the heat and cook to the hard crack stage.

Pour into the egg white mixture and beat until divinity loses its gloss.

Add nuts and vanilla, food coloring if desired.

Drop by spoonfuls onto waxed paper.

Mom made tons of divinity and they always turned our perfectly. This was a favorite of a lot of people and was always requested at Christmas time.
