Directions:
Can make this recipe days ahead of serving, as it keeps well in the freezer!
Remove Ice Cream from freezer to soften and drain the cherries on a paper towel.
Melt the butter in a lg. deep skillet on low stovetop setting. Add the brown sugar and stir 'til well blended. Remove from heat and add the cereal, tossing to coat well with the sugar mixture. Fold in the nuts & coconut 'til distributed throughout. Spread half of this mixture into an 8" square pan. Top with softened ice cream, spreading to distribute it evenly. Top with other half of cereal mixture, little by little so this mixture covers the ice cream layer nicely. Tightly wrap pan in heavy duty foil or a doubled layer of reg. foil and freeze at least 3 hrs..
Cut into squares to serve and garnish with marashino cherry on top!

This is a recipe from a cookbook that Aunt Ann Minnegan gave to me for a wedding gift...well worn from use, of all my many cookbooks, this one is still my favorite!
