1 c. butter, softened
1/2 c. shortening
3 c. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1/2 tsp. almond extract
5 eggs, room temperature
3 c. all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. 7-up
For the glaze:
1/4 c. 7-up
1/2 c. powdered sugar

Preheat oven to 300F. Grease and flour a 10-inch tube pan.
Combine butter, shortening, sugar, vanilla and almond extract in the bowl of an electric mixer. Beat until light and fluffy, about 5 minutes. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Add 7-up.
In a separate bowl, combine the flour and salt, add to butter/sugar mixture.
Spoon batter into tube pan, bake 1 hour and 45 minutes.
When cake cools make glaze and pour over cake.
