For the cookie bottom:
1/2 c. butter
1/4 c. sugar
1 c. flour
salt

For the toffee (top):
7 oz. (1/2 can) condensed milk
1/2 c. butter
1/2 c. sugar
2 tbsp. syrup (use only Lyles Golden Syrup©)
6 oz. chocolate chips

Directions:

For the cookie bottom:
Cream butter and sugar. Add flour, knead into greased 9x9 pan and bake in 350ºF oven till golden for 20-25 minutes.
For the toffee:
Blend over low heat (double boiler can also be used) and boil for 5 minutes, stirring constantly. Spread over shortbread. When cool, coat with 6 oz. melted chocolate chips.
