2 CUPS SOFT SHORTENING,
3 CUPS SUGAR,
4 LARGE EGGS,
5 1/2 CUPS FLOUR,
4 TSP. CREAM OF TARTER,
2 TSP. SODA,
1 TSP. SALT

Directions:
Directions:
Cream first three ingredients together. Then stir in the remaining ingredients. Stir until blended. Chill dough and roll into balls. Flatten halfway and top with cinnamon sugar or cookie decorative sprinkles.

Mom used to make her snickerdoodles all the time while we were growing up. Even when they were baked too long and were dark and crunchy, we would put peanut butter on their bottoms and gobble them up.
