1 lb ground beef
1 small onion, chopped
2 cans (15 oz. each) kidney beans, drained and rinsed
2 cans (14.5 oz. each) diced tomatoes, undrained
1 can (15 oz.) tomato sauce
1 c. water
1 tbsp. chili powder
1 tsp. sugar
1 tsp. cocoa powder
1 tsp. salt

1. Cook and stir ground beef and onions in large skillet over medium-high heat until beef crumbles and is no longer pink; drain.

2. Add beans, tomatoes, tomato sauce, water, chili powder, sugar, cocoa and salt. Bring to boil; reduce heat to low. Simmer 20 minutes, uncovered, stirring occasionally.

3. Serve with green onion slices, sour cream, shredded cheddar cheese or corn chips as desired.
