1 3/4 cups boiling water
1 cup white sugar
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup quick oatmeal
1/2 cup soft butter or maragine
2 large eggs
1/2 tsp. salt
1 3/4 cup flour
1 T cocoa
1 tsp baking soda
1 12 oz pkg chocolate chips
1/2 to 1 cup chopped nuts

Directions:

Combine boiling water & oatmeal. Let stand 10 min. Meanwhile stir together sugar, brown sugar, butter. Add eggs, salt, flour, cocoa, baking soda, & 6 oz. (1/2 pkg) chocolate chips. Add the oatmeal mixture and stir. Pour in greased 9" x 13" pan. Sprinkle the remaining 6 oz. chocolate chips and the nuts on top of the batter. Bake in 350 degree oven for 40 min.
