2 1/2 c. cake flour, sifted 8 times
2 c. sugar
2 tsp. soda
2 tsp. cocoa
1 tsp. vanilla
2 eggs
1 c. buttermilk
2 c. cooking oil
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vinegar
3 drops red food coloring

Cream sugar and oil. Add eggs and vinegar, beat well. Sift flour and dry ingredients together. Add buttermilk and flour alternately. Add vanilla flavoring and food coloring. Cook at 350 for 30 to 35 minutes. Cool before icing. Makes 3 layers
