1/2 c butter or margarine
2 c sugar
2 c water
11/2 c self-rising flour
1/2 c shortening
1/3 c milk
2 c finely chopped apples
1 tsp cinnamon

Directions:
Directions:
Heat oven to 350
Melt butter in a 13x9 cake pan. In saucepan or microwave, heat water and sugar til sugar is dissolved.
Cut shortening into flour until resemble corn meal. Add milk and stir with fork just until dough leaves sides of bowl.
Turn out onto floured board and knead until smooth. Roll out into a rectangle 1/4" thick. Sprinkle cinnamon over apples, then spread apples over dough. Roll up like jellyroll. Dampen edges with a little water to seal. Slice into 1/2" pieces and place in pan with melted butter. Pour sugar water around rolls. (It will look like a lot but crust will absorb it). Bake 55-60 minutes
