8 pork chops, 1/2" thick
2 T butter or margarine
1 tsp minced fresh garlic
1 (28 oz) can whole tomatoes
1 tsp basil leaves
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper
1/2 c water
3 T cornstarch
1 medium onion, sliced
1 medium green papper, sliced

Directions:
Directions:
In deep skillet or dutch oven, melt butter and stir in garlic.
Add 4 chops, browning on both sides. Remove and brown other 4 chops. Return all chops to pan. Stir in tomatoes, basil, salt, & pepper. Cover and cook over medium heat about 1 hour until chops are tender.
Remove chops and keep warm. In small bowl, stir water & cornstarch, then add to pan. Add onion and green pepper. Cook, stirring occasionally, until sauce is thickened and vegetables are tender (5-6 minutes. Serve sauce over pork chops.
