3 lbs. ground chuck
1/2 pkg. onion soup mix
1/2 cup chopped onion (optional)
1 cup bread crumbs
2 eggs
3/4 cup ketsup
1/4 cup dry oatmeal (keeps loaf from shrinking)
2-3 sliced of bacon (raw)

Directions:
Directions:
Combine all ingredients except bacon. Shape into loaf. Lay bacon in botton of baking dish. Lay meat loaf on top of bacon. The bacon will keep the meat loaf from burning on the botton and add flavor. Bake 45-50 min. at 375. Drain off fat and top with additional kepsup and bake 5-10 min. longer.
