2 c. sugar (minus 4 Tbsp.)
1 c. shortening
3 eggs
4 c. flour
3/4 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1 tsp. vanilla
2 c. raisins (boil raisins for 5 min. in 1-1/4 C. water- add 1 tsp. soda & cool).

Directions:
Directions:
Add 2 cups raisins and boil for 5 minutes in 1-1/4 C. water, add 1 tsp. soda and cool. (add water & raisins)
Beat eggs, shortening, and sugar, add the remaining ingredients.
Bake @ 350 for 10-12 minutes.
(Dough will not be stiff)
