1/2 c. butter
2 c. sugar
2 eggs
2 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. cloves
2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
2 tsp. baking soda
5 c. peeled and chopped apples
1/2 c. chopped walnuts
Rum sauce:
1/2 c. butter
1/2 c. whipping cream
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. brown sugar
1/2 tsp. rum flavoring

Beat sugar and butter until creamy. Add eggs one at a time and beat well after each. Add cinnamon, cloves, salt, baking soda, apples and nuts. Mix until blended. Pour into 9x13 in. sprayed pan and bake 45 min. at 350.
Rum sauce: Combine butter, cream and sugars. Boil for 1 min. Add rum flavoring. Serve cake warm with ice cream and sauce.
