1/2 c. shortening
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. buttermilk
1 tbsp. cocoa
1 1/2 c. sugar
2 oz. (4 bottles) red food coloring
1 tbsp. vinegar
1 tsp. soda
2 1/2 c. cake flour

Directions:
Directions:
Cream sugar, shortening and eggs. Add food coloring, vanilla and vinegar. Add dry ingredients and buttermilk and blend well. Bake at 350 in 9 " pans for 25-30 min.
