2-1/4 c. flour
2-1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1-1/2 c. brown sugar firmly packed
1/2 c. shortening
1 tsp. vanilla
2/3 c. milk
1/3 c. milk
2 medium eggs
Frosting:
1-1/2 cup brown sugar packed
1/4 cup milk
2 Tbsp. butter.
1 tsp. vanilla
cream

Directions:
Directions:
Sift the flour, baking powder, and salt together. Add the brown sugar, shortening, vanilla and 2/3 cup milk. Beat for 2 min. Add the 1/3 cup milk and 2 eggs beat for 2 min. Bake at 350 about 30 min. or until toothpick comes out clean. For the frosting bring the brown sugar, milk and butter to a boil and boil 3 min. stirring constantly. Remove from heat and add the vanilla. Cool to luke warm. Beat until creamy adding a little cream if necessary to make easier to spread.
