2 cups chopped dates 3 1/2 cups flour
2 cups hot water 2 cups walnuts
2 tsp. baking soda
3 tsp. soft butter
2 eggs
1 1/2 cups sugar
pinch of salt

Directions:
Directions:
Put dates & water in bowl for about 10 minutes. Add to bowl: 2 tsp. baking soda and 3 tsp. soft butter. Stir lightly. Beat 2 eggs and add to bowl. Add 1 1/2 cups sugar & pinch of salt. Beat again. Add flour and date mixture. Beat. Add walnuts. Bake at 350 degrees for about 1 hour.
