3 eggs 1 cup sugar 2 tbsp shortening 1 tsp salt 3 tsp baking soda 1/2 tsp nutmeg 3 1/2 cups flour 1 cup milk 1/2 tsp lemon extract
Beat eggs till light. Beat in sugar, add melted shortening. sift baking powder, salt, and nutmeg with 1 cup flour. Stir in alternately with milk, add lemon extract, and just enough flour to make soft dough. Chill. Roll 3/4 inch thick. Cut. Fry in deep fat @ 360º.
