3/4 Cup Shortening
1 Cup Brown Sugar, packed
1/2 Cup Sugar
1 Egg
1/4 Cup Water
1 Tsp. Vanilla
1 Cup Flour
1 Tsp. Salt
1/2 Tsp. Baking Soda
3 Cups Rolled Oats

Directions:
Directions:
Beat first 6 ingredients until creamy. Sift together flour, salt and soda and add to creamed mixture and mix well. Stir in oats. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto greased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 for 12 to 15 minutes. Makes 5 dozen cookies.
