1c. sugar
1c. butter (not oleo)
2 eggs
2c. cake flour
1 tsp. soda in flour
1 pt. canned strawberries

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter, sugar well; add eggs; and sifted cake flour and soda. Add strawberries. (Steam for 2 1/2 hours without lifting lid) If strawberries have only sugar added when canned, this recipe has enough flour, but if water added to strawberries when canned, add little more cake flour

Sauce
1/2 c. butter
1 pt. canned strawberries
1/2 c. cream

Mix this sauce and bring to a boil. Serve on top, and whipped cream on top. This is an old English recipe, 100 years or older.
